"synergy": co‑operation between two organisations, which achieves more than both would achieve if they worked separately

Co‑operative enterprises make a significant conribution to the economic and social
well-being of the United Kingdom.

Synergy is a co‑operative of organisations working together to create a centre of
excellence for the gathering and dissemintaion of information about co‑operative
enterprise in the United Kingdom.

There is currently no single source of data on co‑operative enterprises in the United Kingdom. 

Over the past few years Co‑operatives UK has taken a lead role in mapping, perhaps
for the first time, the size, scope and diversity of the co‑operative sector in the United Kingdom. 

Mapping of the sector is however a task that cannot be undertaken by one organisation alone. To be successful the many orgnisations that represent co‑operative enterprises at national and regional level, and those organisations that work to promote
and develop new co‑operatives, need to work in synergy with one another.
