Governance & Participation Project Aims
The Project Aims:
- To enhance the knowledge and understanding of organisational forms which have a strong democratic or participatory element.
- To research and develop options for participatory governance which are innovative and new to the public arena.
- To enhance the knowledge and sustainability of community-based groups by providing support to their advisors and development bodies.
The G&P Project developed a training programme, website resources and a telephone helpline for development bodies and community development workers who work to build the capacity of local community groups. This may include your local:
- Co‑operative Development Body.
- Bussiness Link.
- Development Trust Assoication.
- Council for Voluntary Service.
- Rural Community Council.
- Local Authority Voluntary Sector Team.
- Development Workers at your local community building (Village Hall or Community Centre)
