Co‑operating Locally : Developing links between co‑operative education and co‑operative housing
CMS is sponsoring this one day conference will take place on the March 30th 2007 at the Teacher Building, Glasgow. The event is free and would be of interest to housing co‑operative professionals/ committees, educators, those delivering or planning business education training or simply fellow co‑operators who wish to see co‑operative education flourish. CMS hosted a Conference entitled 'The Future of Scotland's Co‑operative Sector' on the 15th June 2006 at the Thistle Hotel in Glasgow followed by the AGM later that day.

CMS appoints new part-time Development Co-ordinator Susan Paton. Susan has a background in Housing Co‑operatives and represented CHIS on the CMS board before taking up the post.

The housing co‑op sector in Scotland has enlisted the help of CMS to organise a new forum (Co‑operative Housing in Scotland) to act as the voice of the sector. It is hoped to bring all the housing co‑ops identified in recent research by Co‑operative Development Scotland into the fold and a late Summer launch has been targeted.

With the appointment of a CEO (Ian Hughes) and 5 members of the Advisory Board, the new CDA (Co‑operative Development Scotland), the opportunity to define the relationship between CMS and the Scottish Enterprise subsidiary has been grasped and CMS is hopeful of finalising a formal agreement from June
