Co‑operatives Europe is the ICA's regional office, representing co‑operatives throughout Europe and in particular ensuring that European Legislation doesn't unduly penalisatise organisations using the co‑operative form.

Co‑operatives Europe has two co-presidents, Etienne Pflimlin of France and our ex-Chief Executive Dame Pauline Green. Because of this, Co‑operatives UK has particular strong ties with Co‑operatives Europe and we often work closely together to achieve our common goals.

Co‑operatives Europe represents 171 individual co‑operative organisations from 37 countries of the 42 EU members, which equates to 267,000 co‑operative enterprises, 163 million members and 5.4 million jobs.
